Check of level of liquid in an automatic transmission

The car should stand on an equal horizontal surface.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make a trip before transmission warming up to temperature 70–80°C.
  2. Park the car on an equal horizontal surface.
  3. At the working engine move the selector lever from the situation "N" to all provisions and back in the situation "N".
  4. Before extraction щупа wipe from dirt area near щупа. Get щуп and check a condition of transmission liquid. Check color of liquid in an automatic transmission. Check liquid in an automatic transmission on presence of unusual smells. For definition of change of color and a smell of liquid compare it to fresh liquid.

If liquid in an automatic transmission has a burned smell or is polluted by parts of a material of plugs or from a friction, probably, major maintenance of a transmission is required.

  1. Check level of liquid which should be between «HOT» labels. If necessary, add necessary amount of demanded liquid. Transmission liquid: GENUINE HYUNDAI ATF SP–III.

Low level of liquid can be at the bottom of many malfunctions as air gets to liquid, and the liquid suspension with air becomes compressed that leads to chaotic change of pressure and violation of work of couplings and tape brakes.

Also raised level of liquid leads to that rotating gear wheels of a transmission shake up foam which leads to the same results, as the air which has got to transmission liquid.

In any case vials of air lead to an overheat and oxidation of transmission liquid which, getting in the valve, breaks work of coupling and brakes. Foaming can lead to an effluence of liquid which can be accepted for leakage of liquid.

  1. Reliably insert щуп for level measurement.
  1. Transmission liquid and oil filters should be replaced always at carrying out major maintenance of a transmission.
