General information
Power shafts transfer a torque from the engine, a transmission and differential to forward wheels. In a transmission case power shafts fasten shlitsevy connections with semi-axial gear wheels of differential. Fixing of a shlitsevy tip of the internal hinge of a power shaft in a semi-axial gear wheel is made by a spring lock ring. At installation the lock ring is compressed, entering into a shaft flute. After the shaft is completely established in a semi-axial gear wheel of differential, the lock ring is unclenched and fixes shlitsevy a tip from axial moving. External hinges of power shafts fasten to the naves of forward wheels established on bearings. Shaft fastening to a nave is carried out by a nut with a fillet. For an exception of an otvorachivaniye of a nut the fillet of a nut is bent in dredging of a power shaft.
Hinges of equal angular speeds (CV JOINTS) are established from two parties of a power shaft. All external CV JOINTS – the Birfield type, and internal – tripoidny or ball type. CV JOINTS of tripoidny type are used for prevention of transfer of vibrations of the engine through power shafts on a car body. CV JOINTS are necessary for transfer of a torque and compensation of movement of a forward suspension bracket. Also, CV JOINTS allow to change length of a power shaft and to transfer a torque under constantly changing corners.
